There are a variety of ways that vehicles and Motorcycles are valued. Here are a few ideas of how to find the value of yours. Keep in mind that these are different sources and you may get different results depending upon "why" you want an appraisal and "who" you are asking. Consider the source. This is not a comprehensive list.
- Check online resources for base values. A quick guide that provides high/low retail (not necessarily market or street values) can be found with NADAGuides online.
- Combing through the online forums and newsgroups can be very helpful. If you do not know how to access the newsgroups then get assistance from your online provider.
- Contact a professional appraisal services. There are many available. Prices can range from twenty dollars to several thousand depending upon the need and type of appraisal. Short quick appraisals will not cost very much, but extensive, line-by-line professional appraisals can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars; but they are usually worth the investment if your vehicle has a high value, is a collector's item, or you need something that will hold up in court or for insurance purposes. This option is our strongest recommendation.
- Check with local dealers.
