AMA Sports' exciting new Supermoto program got off to a successful start in Oregon last weekend, with veteran pro-racing star Doug Chandler making an impressive appearance in the Premier Class. KTM's Chandler took the win at the opening round of the 2003 AMA Supermoto Grand Championships, presented by Sidi, at Pat's Acres Racing Complex in Oregon's historic Charboneau District near Portland. More than 100 US House members are backing legislation that would ban health-insurance discrimination against motorcyclists, ATVers and others. The legislators support for HR 1749 which would bar health-care discrimination against those who take part in activities such as motorcycling, ATV riding, snowmobiling, skiing or horseback riding....

The Barstow Field Office is considering implementation of a new Fee Demonstration Project at four of its five OHV Recreation Areas. The funds collected would be used to support recreational visitor services at El Mirage, Dumont Dunes, Stoddard and Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Areas. More than likely this will occur more and more in similar areas of our country in order to control the costs of maintaining BLM lands for such use.
