Most motorcycle transport companies will give you a free quote online or over the phone.

Whether you're a buyer or seller, you may need to transport your motorycle quite a distance. Be sure you find an insured and bonded vehicle shipping company with door-to-door or terminal to terminal motorcycle shipping services. Note that many motorcycle transporters offer skids (pallets) to save you the trouble of having to crate the bike. Enclosed transport trucks are the standard.

Motorcycle Transport Tips

The first step in transporting your motorcycle is to obtain a quote. In order to do this, the transport company will require the following information:
  • The origination and destination of transport
  • Approximate departure date
  • Type of motorcycle
  • Type of motorcycle shipping service desired (e.g., door-to-door motorcycle transport or terminal-to-terminal)
Obtain quotes from at least three motorcycle transport companies and make sure you determine the total cost. Be aware of any extra fees they may charge.

The next step is to make sure the necessary route for pickup or delivery is accessible by the carrier. Transport trucks are large and may not be able to drive down certain streets due to narrow roads, city or county regulations or lack of turn around areas. This may cause problems for pickup and/or delivery. If so, pick another site such as a large parking lot, a shopping center, etc...

Next, prepare your motorcycle for shipping.
  • Wash the motorcycle so you can make an accurate inspection of any damage before shipping
  • Make sure you have removed all personal items from the motorcycle (under seat storage, saddle bags, etc...).
  • If your motorcycle has an alarm, make sure to de-activate it so it doesn't activate during transport
  • Verify that all items in/on the motorcycle are secure.

We wish you the best of luck in transporting your motorcycle!
