Description:
1966 Mustang with Coast High Performance 426 CID Windsor Small Block, 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 speed Toploader. Street legal and currently registered. Runs well on pump gas. 11.19 @120 mph quarter mile timeslip from Maple Grove Runway.
Motor and Drivetrain: 426 Coast High Performance short block assembled by Bovino Racing Engines, has Probe lightweight pistons and Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads and intake, Crane roller rockers, Holley 750 Double Pumper carb reworked with milled choke horn and throat blended for optimum airflow. Hooker Super Comp headers, Moroso 7 __ quart oil pan, Comp Cans custom grind hydraulic camshaft, , Summit aluminum radiator with aluminum high flow water pump and Flexfan with backup electric fan. Mallory 140 GPH fuel pump with adjustable regulator and __ inch alum fuel line, 4 speed Toploader prof rebuild with Lakewood Scattershield, steel flywheel and recent McLeod paddle style clutch, Jacobs ignition coil and wires with MSD 6AL Box with 2 stage rev limiter and MSD Billet Distributor, Ford 9 inch rear with 3.50 gears in a recently rebuilt Detroit Locker with Moser 31 spline axles.
Chassis ___ Original Ford A-arms were installed along with complete front suspension rebuild including rebuilt steering box and front springs and original 4 piston disc brake setup. Rear leaf springs replaced last year along with addition of Stainless Steel Brakes, rear disc kit with E-brake provision, E brake needs to be hooked up. Cal Trac bars provide traction along with 5-way adjustable Rancho rear shocks, subframe connectors also installed.
Body: Restoration shop installed. Original FORD quarter panels, fenders and rear taillight panel as well as new front and rear valence panels, new floors and outer wheelhouses, 8 gallon fuel cell with aluminum shield between trunk and rear seat as required by NHRA as well as a relocated trunk mount Optima Gel battery with required safety shut off switch, Halogen H-4 headlights and stainless steel exhaust trumpets connected to 2 __ inch custom bent exhaust with 3 inch dumps at collectors.
Interior: Was kept as close to stock as possible and has the Pony Interior option with the original rare AM-8 track option that has factory door speakers. This car has an authentic black walnut wood steering wheel and I have the original underdash A/C unit that came with the car but is not installed. Also has 5 point racing harness with 8 point rollbar that has removable front bars for ease of entry into car. Shelby dash pod houses Autometer shift light tach and mechanical oil pressure gage, also has lighted hood mounted mechanical fuel pressure and temp gauges. Car also has optional 2-speed wipers and day-night rearview mirror, heater assy is included but not installed. Shifter is a Hurst V-gate.
