1970 Dodge Challenger Clone For sale is this 1970 Dodge Challenger R T 440 Sixpack with SlapStick Auto Transmission. This is not a numbers matching car. It was an original 318 engine. This is an old school restoration meaning all body repairs were repaired with lead NOT Bondo. This restoration has taken three years to complete. I realize the economy is down and this is not the time to sell however I am moving and have to sell the Challenger along with a restored 59 Corvette. If interested the Corvette will be listed in about two weeks. This Challenger was sandblasted to bare metal. All repairs needed on the body were completed with lead wiping. Once done the unibody was painted. see photos The engine and transmission were then dropped in. Then the rest of the body panels were added. All paint was done in PPG Basecoat Clearcoat in correct Top Banana Yellow. I had ALL photos but my computer crashed and I lost many early photos. There are still numerous photos to view at http s881.photobucket.com albums ac19 mwm3006 We were lucky enough to find 2 build sheets. One in each front seat Also included is the original owners manual along with shop manual CD. Now for the details I have right at $43,000.00 invested in this Challenger not counting any labor. The 440 is totally rebuilt as new. We chose a little beefier cam to install. We also installed Edlebrock Performer Series heads to boost horsepower. Ceramic coated headers were installed. We did not Dyno the engine but it is between 475 And 500 HP giving it about an additional 100 HP over the stock 390 HP. The six pack carbs were completely rebuilt. The transmission was also rebuilt and a new 393 sure grip rear end was installed. An Airconditioning system was also installed to connect back to the original in dash system on the car.. Gotta stay cool while you re lookin hot New power steering pump New radiator. All new brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes. All new fuel lines, new emergency brake cables. New shocks, all new tie rods, ball joints, etc. New 2 1 2 Dynaflow dual exhaust. Front end was just alligned. All interior was redone. New seat upholstery, carpet, headliner, new dash pad. New Vinyl top. New chrome bumpers, tail lights, side markers, etc. Installed American Racing Torque Thrust wheels along with new tires. Original wheels will go with car. Basically there is nothing on this car that wasn t restored or replaced except the driver and passenger glass and the window regulators. EVERYTHING is new or restored to new. After the trunk mat was installed we installed an awsome stereo system which consists of an Alpine AM FM CD MP3 160 watt player. New front and rear dash speakers. We then added 2 color coordinated 12 woofers powered by a 1600 watt amp. The woofers can be easily removed as they are mounted to 2 separate panels that lift out.
