1971 Buick GS 455 Stage I Convertible

1971 Buick GS 455 Stage I Convertible. This is one of 81 made in 1971. We know of only 9, 1971 Convertibles in existence. This is the earliest one made in Flint, MI, Car number 576 of that year. This car has a No. 2 Rating (because it is driven occasionally) otherwise it is a No. 1 rated car. It is a numbers matching vehicle! Has original stereo with 8-track player. It also has original P/S, P/B, Automatic Trans, P/W, Tilt, Cruise Control, Power Seats and Power Top.This was the fastest production car of its time in __71, known as a 'Hemi-Killer'. The massive V-8 455 Stage 1 engine gave an awesome 345 horsepower at 5000 RPM from a stock motor. It pushed 460 ft. lbs. of torque at 3000 RPM with a 4.3125 X 3.900 Bore X Stroke. We have since found out that this is an underrated rating on this car. This car was built in Flint, MI in 1971. The production number of the car shows to be The Transmission Code on this vehicle shows to be an __OW__. Underside of car was recently stripped to bare metal and recoated with a black satin finish by a professional service that restores old classic vehicles. Exhaust on this car is new. Manufacturer Specs:EngineThe 455 engine is painted red and had a code of TS. It's bore and stroke was 4.3125' x 3.900'. The compression ration was 8.5:1. It produced 345 hp @ N/A RPM. It was topped with a Rochester Q Jet 4V. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 with the left bank from front to back being 1-3-5-7 and the right bank being 2-4-6-8. The intake casting number is , with the head casting number being , and the block casting number being Rear AxleThe standard rear axle ratio was 3.42:1. Assorted INFORMATIONIt was equipped with dual exhaust. Service replacement heads for the Stage 1 engines had head casting numbers of Cylinder heads on the 455 Stage 1 and 455 have the same casting number, but the valves on the Stage 1 are larger. The intake valve diameter is 2.120' vs. 2.000' and the exhaust valve diameter is 1.755' vs. 1.625'.
