Description:
This corvette is the very first in a series of race inspired corvette package from HarborVette Performance Restorations. Known as the HR series, this vehicle includes a modern drivetrain and upgraded suspension system while preserving the classic American Corvette skin. Included in this website are pictures of the entire process from frame to finish and information about this initial execution of the C3HR. The 1973 Corvette C3 was chosen due to its large following and popularity of the body style. Modifications that have been done to the body include a one-off custom nose and grill, a smoothed firewall and engine bay, 4-inch cowl hood exaggerated body flares (to add a much deserved aggressive appearance), and one-off custom rocker moldings (that transition the flares into the body). We also eliminated the Astro-ventilation grills and extended the rear spoiler 3/4 of an inch. Our muscular C3 body is mated with a powder coated chassis equipped with a Grand Touring Plus suspension system from Vette Brakes & Products inc. This system includes tubular control arms, Bilstein shocks, heavy duty front/rear sway bars, and a composite monospring. This allows the owner to adjust the car in a number of settings to assure tight sports car handling. As far as stopping power goes, we used quad piston calipers and 14 inch slotted rotors from a C5 in front and the rear brakes are original C3 styled calipers with slotted rotors. Finally, the drive train installed in our 73 Corvette is powered by a 485hp LSI that is bolted to a 4L60E 4-speed automatic. This car is finished off with a deep set of 18-inch Boze rims which really captures the nostalgic Trans Am appearance that we were shooting for. Inside, the C3 has a full navigation system with a heart-pumping Pioneer Stereo system. Also, the interior includes custom seats with matching door panels and a custom gauge package that gives the 73 interior a much needed face lift from its original design. The C3HR is a prime example of an American classic that has been refreshed and slightly redesigned to attract the interest of multiple generations of automotive enthusiasts. 83 miles since built. Automatic Transmission, 8 Cylinder Engine, Silver Exterior, Charcoal Interior, Leather Fabric, Rear Wheel Drive, 2 Doors, CD Player, Power Brakes.
