Description:
Complete and fully documented original body off restoration of this beautiful 1956 f100 custom cab big window truck .
In 1956 the f100 reached its finest design with one of its most sought after options , the big back window . Of the 137,581 trucks built in 1956 only 6,200 were big windows,making this truck rare and very desireable .
This truck was completely dissassembled for restoration .All body parts were soda blasted inside and out,photographed to show the quality of the original metal, bodyworked and painted individually and reassembled .The interior is all new . Inside the bed is Quartersawn white oak with seven coats of satin oil polyurethane on all sides. The 272 y block v8 engine was completely rebuilt including new crankshaft ,pistons,wrist pins,cam, lifters, pushrods, rocker arm shafts , valves , springs, guides, rebuilt 2 bbl carburetor and all machine work .It has a 3 speed on the tree tranmission that shifts perfectly.The frame, brake system and suspension have been completely refurbished to new original quality .Included in the purchase is a fitted four layer Dust Top cover. I have all photos of the truck before , during and after its restoration.
This truck spent its entire life in california until I purchased it and brought it to Connecticut . The restoration was completed in september 2009. It has been to two car shows and won " owners choice" best of show and Mayors choice . A similar f100 recently sold at the Barret Jackson auction in Las Vegas for $53000.00. That one however, was not a "Big window " and had a less desireable 6 cylinder in it .
