1968 Columbia 36ft Sloop - MUST SELL ASAP! OVER $25k INVESTED. WHERE IS, AS IS! The Pefect Apartment On The Water. The Columbia class sailboats are very well made, not prone to bubbles in the fiberglass (pre 1970), spacious (6ft+ head room), well designed, blue water boats. I personally love the wide, clear and uncluttered deck where guests never stumble, fall or get hung up on something, unlike many other boats. Also the ease of sailing and dependability are paramount, I am never afraid to have a novice steer, host/lower the main, and we safely return from a day on the Bay in 30/35mph winds, while hitting 8.7 knots, staying on course (not rounding up) and watching several newer boats loose their course and drop sails and even a few de-mastings. All this and more is why these older boats are loved and cherished and they have an incredible following. Check any marina and see how many Columbias you count as compared to everything else, and at the price, you can have everything the new boats have but at one tenth the cost. Oh, and I am the second owner in 38 years, what does that tell you? CONDITION: Boat is in excellent sailing condition, due for haul out, zincs & bottom paint (diver says ok, but hasn't been done in 2+ years) Needs a good cleaning inside & out, Teak will need oiling or painting soon, Fwd/Rev shift cables need adjusting (hard to shift out of FWD and into reverse), very small water leak in exhaust at stern in Lazzarette.
