Description:
Vehicle Description 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD Turbo. Magnus Motorsports www.magnusmotorsports.com Stage 2 6-bolt engine swap with Ross 9-1 forged pistons and Crower billet rods, balance shafts removed, new timing belt, BALANCED AND BLUEPRINTED by Magnus Motorsports. Around 35,000 miles on the professionally rebuilt 6-bolt, Around 90,000 miles on the chassis. The body was refinished about 5 years ago and received a professional complete overall paintjob. ----- Engine ----- A little snippet of history about the Eagle Talon: The original second generation '7-bolt' engine on many Eagle Talons () had a defect with the engine (specifically the main bearings on the crankshaft) which caused premature engine failure (otherwise known as blowing up) this modification not only eliminated that, but added enough strength to the engine to theoretically support upwards of 700 horsepower (other modifications supporting of course, but what I am trying to get across is that this engine is a workhorse and will perform. day in. day out. With NO problems) 1G CAS (91-92 Optical Effect, 93-94 Hall Effect) 1G Oil Cooler (90-92 MD bolt water cooled oil cooler) 1G Water Pump 1G Oil Pump/Front Case 1G Timing Belt necessities 2G Engine mount (modified) used 2G engine mount trimmed, with 1G tensioner arm 1G Timing Belt Covers (modified) 1G 90-92 6-bolt block 2G Starter Mounting bracket 1G Water Pipe 1G lower radiator hose 1G Thermostat housing/ Water Neck 1G 6-bolt oil pan Balance shafts (removed) 2G Alternator 2G Power Steering Pump 2G A/C 2G Belts ----- More Modifications ----- Original Cost to me in October of 2003: 15,000+ tax, title, import fees, parking, towing = $17,000 @ 61500 miles. I still have the original listing from the previous owner and other information to prove these costs. I also have a clean VIN number which you can check at: The only issue is the switch between reporting mileage. This tripped an Odometer fraud warning when the odometer was reported in miles instead of kilometers when it was imported into Detroit. These are the modifications that were performed before my ownership of the vehicle by the previous owner in Windsor, Canada : First of all, and most interesting is that the speeedometer/odometer are both metric. Other modifications include: Injen Intake w/ K&N cone filter, Full 3 inch HKS exhaust, Magnaflow muffler, 'custom' short throw shifter, upgraded 4 wheel disc 'big brake' package (im not sure who the manufacturer is, but they are great, you will stop on a dime) , front and rear strut braces, 2 1/16 Autometer 'Sport Comp' Boost gauge, 18' Enkei Racing Wheels, Clarion face plate, 1000 watt Diesel amplifier, alarm with keyless entry, as well as the Engine which is listed above.... I was not able to obtain reciepts for all these items except the 18' Enkei wheels. ( I Have all the reciepts for these modifications listed below) All of these items were bought by me and professionally installed by my good friend and mechanic, Paul: at ProStreetAuto on 1-14-2004 at 122,662km unless otherwise specified The entire turbo system consists of Hahn Racecraft parts: if you are unfamiliar with their products and the advantages which they have over some other manufacturers, you can check out their website at www.hahnracecraft.com Hahn Racecraft Super 20g Mitsubishi turbocharger (capable of 550hp with other supporting modifications) $650 Turbo install kit (lines, gaskets, etc) $300.00 Greddy Type-S BOV (compressor bypass valve for turbo system) $200 Go Fast Manual Boost Controller $50.00 Greddy Turbo Timer (full auto timer, allows you to run the car with the key out of the ignition to ensure proper 'cool down' for up to 9m:59s $90.00 Apex-i SAFC2 (piggy back fuel computer for fuel tuning) $300 Hahn Racecraft 'Eliminator' O2 housing $150.00 Hahn Racecraft Front Mount Intercooler and piping $980.00 Hahn Racecraft 625cc fuel injectors 117 x 4 = $468.00 Walbro 255LPH fuel pump $100.00 ACT Streetlite Flywheel 12.5lbs $240 installed 11-2-2004 at Prostreet Auto Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch (as well as a new slave cylinder which was 59.67) 500.00 + labor: 524.74 = $1081.41 installed 5-19-2005 at Prostreet Auto Optima Yellow Top $200.00 Just bought it 4-14-07 Triple A pillar pod $53.00 2 1/16 Autometer 'Sport Comp' Pyrometer gauge $126.00 2 1/16 Autometer 'Sport Comp' gauge Air/Fuel Ratio $52.00 High Flow Polished Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter $95.02 Eibach Pro Lowering kit 1.6 F 1.6 R $320.00 installed 2-27-2006 at Belle Tire Sensa Track Struts with million mile warranty 4 x 110 = $440.00 installed 2-27-2006 at Belle Tire Lower contol arms/Ball joints 4 x 158.00 = $632.00 installed 2-27-2006 at Belle Tire Dunlop M3 Sport Tires $800.00 installed 2-27-2006 at Belle Tire Fuel Tune at Payn Technologies in Troy, Michigan for 20psi on 93 octane performed on 3/20/2004 at 125,000km for $372.50 Labor for install of turbo, fuel injectors, Walbro fuel pump, NGK spark plugs, Hahn FMIC, Autometer gauges, Apex-i fuel computer, orbital battery, etc. performed 1-14-2004 at 122,662km for a total of $1847.42 Now 88,000 miles over $10,000 in upgrades including labor TOTAL COST TO ME WAS $27,000 Oil ALWAYS changed between 2,000 and 2,500 miles with 10x30 fully synthetic Castrol Syntec and Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stablizer (in a 4-1 mix) The car is in excellent running condition (suspension, engine, transmission, you name it, its all smooth as butter) Only modified and worked on by ASE certified shops. All NEW performance modifications allowed proper break - in period (For Ex. 500 miles for super 20g turbo and Centerforce Clutch) Always properly cooled down while parked after boosting NEVER NEVER NEVER Track Driven or abused K&N Air Filter cleaned and recharged with every oil change Mobil 93octane Premium exclusively everytime all the time Hand washed and waxed every time Covered and Garaged at all times (especially during the winter season) This car has only been driven in snow about 4 times in over 3 years of my ownership. Paint is in excellent glossy condition and the body is immaculate. New drivers side doorhandle 4-14-07 New interior floor support in rear hatch 4-14-07 I will always be available for questions, long after the car sells, so feel free to ask questions if you are confused about anything. I have kept a file on this car (receipts, repairs, history, etc.) I will make copies of anything you would like to see. Most importantly, I love this car, I have treated it with the utmost respect and maintained it to the highest degree. This car looks and drives like a new car because it has been kept in such excellent condition. If I did not need the money for college I WOULD NEVER SELL THIS CAR TO ANYONE, NEVER. YOU ARE LUCK Y TO EVEN HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY MY CAR, SO IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS AND WILLING TO PAY 14,000 DONT EVEN WASTE MY TIME. I do not have a horsepower or torque figure on paper for this vehicle, however, my best guess would be that with its current tune for 'everyday driving' it is putting down about 350hp to the wheels with comparative torque figures at around 4,000 rpm under 18psi. With a retune and boost at 30psi on race gas, 500+ hp is not out of the question with the supporting modifications that have been performed.... Like I said, this car has never been track driven so I do not know what time it would put down in the 1/4 mile, my best guess with my modest current street tune would be a low to mid 12 second quarter mile and a 0-60 time of around 4 seconds..... Vehicle located in Brighton, MI.
