Description:
This aircraft was number 334 out of 500 AT 19's that were built by Stinson Aircraft Co. for the United States Army, then lent to Britian under the lend-lease plan in World War II. This particular aircraft say service as a Royal Navy Aircraft stationed in India, probably as a submarine patrol plane. After the war about 350 of these planes were repatriated back home, and "civilianized" by Vultee Aircraft Co. and given the designator V77. Veltee removed the large side windows, radio racks, covered the camera port in the floor, installed a rear bench seat, removed the friend/foe identifier, and installed civilian controls among other things.
